The Show will stay from Jan 8th -Jan 29th

This is a small interview I had with him.

Q. So, Let’s talk about your Bio:
A.- Well, I was born and raised in Southern California. I have a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in drawing and painting from USULB (California State University at Long Beach) and a Master of Fine Art in Live action Film and Video from CAL Arts. (California Institute of the Arts).  I am a teacher of Digital Media, Film & Television at SCAD in Atlanta GA.

Q. When did you start being an Artist?
A.- I’ve been always an artist. Ever since I can remember.

Q. Why Did you called it Primordial Places?
A.- Establishing a literal Idea is important, I think, for some audiences.
so probably for this series I’m gonna call it two basic names: Eden and Atmos. I will number a series as Eden 1, Eden 2 Eden 3 etc. These paintings that are more Floral, the ones that are very colorful and create floral gestures. They usually have pink tones, green & orange base tones.  The ones that are ambient, air, atmospheric, with very muted & shades are be called Atmos

Q.Is this the 1st time you had a Show?
A.- In LaGrange? Yes. I’ve had Shows in Atlanta; at the Dewberry Gallery & the Cherry Lion Gallery. Actually, I have shown some artwork at WGTC (West GA Technical College) here in LaGrange. When they moved to the new building around 2006 (Current WGTC Building) I displayed some of my Paintings there by invitation of Dr. Gilley

Q. What is your inspiration?
A.- I try not to decide how the painting is going to look like. The paint is supposed to be instructing me, rather than my instructing the paint.  Painting in acrylics differs from painting in oils. Working in oils, for me is more more fluid. I listen to them more. At times my reactions to the paint differ.  I’ll say, I don’t like you! or I like you!  Sometimes, specially with acrylics, I keep working on them for years, with oils, even thought it takes to dry longer, I finish it sooner. When it’s dry I can say: Ok! Nada mas! I feel acrylics keep asking me to keep working on them.

Q. Whose Idea was to have an Exhibit here in LaGrange?
A.- Well, Wes & Missy Cochran told us that they had space in their gallery at that time, we talked about this almost a year ago, they said they had some time in January and we said: Ok! Other Colleagues of mine at SCAD: Susan Krausse & Steven Jarvis will also be showing sculptural work soon. They are both SCAD professors in sculpture at SCAD Atlanta.

Me: Well my Friend, Thank you so much for your time. Good Luck with your show and See you There!
Him: Thanks!!
